Prayer Life

Prayer is the normal "respiration of the child of God" that I am. In a family, members communicate with one another in much the same way as they breathe, by a kind of natural necessity -- the need for communion. ...We belong to the family of God. I beseech God because he beseeches me. He does not command me... Rather, he respects my freedom; he ardently seeks my love. He tells me of his desire, his immense desire for my happiness and holiness. When I pray, I try to make my wish meet with God's wish. The secret mainspring of my prayer is, in the final analysis, my longing for God -- a longing that he himself kindles within me.
(Mother Jean-Theophane pm, Return to the Heart, vol. 2, p. 311)
From a very early age the life of Marie Rivier was marked by a deep relationship to Mary and this trust and confidence in her intercession continued throughout her life and continues today in all the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary the world over.

Devoted in a very special way to the Virgin Mary, we honor her with a tender, filial piety. Interiorly and exteriorly, we model ourselves on her. We pray to her with confidence in all our needs.
