MARIE RIVIER ASSOCIATION

The Lay Association of the Presentation of Mary was established in the Methuen Province in 1988 with the first commitment of thirty men and women who wish to be disciples of Blessed Marie Rivier. Associates are inserted into the ministry of Jesus through the spirituality and mission of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. The Association lends support and direction in living out their Christian vocation to holiness and mission of evangelization in the Church.  At the same time it extends the charism of the Congregation into the home and the marketplace and enriches the community with gifts.

Associates make a public profession to a mature living of their Baptism an officially commit to live out the Mission of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary within their personal and professional lifestyle.  This commitment brings them new resources to develop their prayer and sacramental life, and to bring this Spirit-led movement of evangelization to impact their everyday life.

 

The zeal of the children of God must be unceasing and endless. As long as we know that there is a spot on earth where our Lord Jesus Christ is neither known nor loved as He should be, we have no right to rest.  Blessed Marie Rivier

PRAYER ASSOCIATION     

Lay people are invited to share in the spirit and mission of the Presentation of Mary Sisters by becoming a member of this Association.

Prayer Associates share in the life of the Presentation of Mary Sisters through a daily recitation of a prayer to Mary and Marie Rivier as a means:

• To grow in holiness
• To ask insistently for vocations to the Community
• To call forth the fire of God’s love on the apostolic labors of the Congregation.

The Presentation of Mary Sisters in turn:

• Remember the intentions of the Associates in their daily prayer
• Share a Newsletter to inform Associates of the life and works of the Congregation throughout the world

Through this Prayer Association we mutually support one another in our Gospel call to pray without ceasing for the coming of the Kingdom and give expression to our oneness as a People of God.
